What is an Emergency?

An emergency is any unexpected crisis that could cause serious injury or death, or seriously damage the infrastructure.
It can strike:

  • anytime,
  • Anywhere,
  • in any form – a tsunami, a hurricane, an earthquake, a tornado, a flood, a fire or a hazardous spill, an act of nature or an act of terrorism.

It erects over days or weeks, or hits suddenly, without warning. Every year, millions of people face disaster, and its terrifying consequences.
